Learn the classic technique of leaded glass and go home with your own stained glass window panel you made yourself! This is a smaller, concentrated class for those who have taken a copper foil workshop and want to progress to the next level as well as beginners who have never worked with glass before. The workshop will include basic instruction on how to design and structure your piece, create a pattern and template and cut your pattern to size, cut and break glass, use a diamond grinder, stretch, measure and cut lead, assemble and solder the pieces together, putty and polish the panel, and add hooks to properly hang your completed piece.
You may bring your own design for a simple window panel or I will help you choose from existing templates or create your own based on your skill level and the sake of time and stability of your piece. There will be a limit to window size, type of glass and design complexity for the beginner's level so everyone is comfortable and not overwhelmed in terms of time or labor. Designs should be no larger than approximately 21" by 14" and no more than around 35 pieces/panes of glass and approved by me before beginning work.
The workshop will take place in my stained glass studio just outside of Rosendale, NY over five days, each day lasting approximately 4-5 hours from start to finish. Price of the class includes all tools and materials and proper safety protection. Everyone works at a different pace, so it's possible you may complete your piece a day earlier than the full 5 days, but there shouldn't be an issue with anyone not completing their panel within these 5 days.

There is currently a maximum of SIX people per leaded glass workshop.
